Election Process

Election Week 1:  Approximately 12th week of semester: 
Nominations are taken for all positions and recorded by Secretary. 
Each member nominated must either accept or respectfully decline the nomination. 

If a nominee is not present when nominated, he/she automatically accepts the nomination and may decline once he/she has received notification of the nomination.

Election Week 2:  Approximately 14th week of spring semester:
Nominations for each office shall be reopened prior to that office’s election.  Votes occur after each candidate has spoken and are by paper ballot requiring a simple majority for election.  Offices are elected in this order:  President, Vice President, Secretary, Financial Officer, Special Events Chair, Service Chair, Public Relations Chair, Super Student Chair, Social Chair.

Process is as follows:

  • Maximum of 4 minute candidate speech
  • Candidate must answer questions from the Council.
  • Discussion re candidate is lead by President.  During discussion,no candidates are present.
